The Dollfins just released their new video which was shot all over Cape Town and features beached aliens and a whole lot of zef behaviour. It’s as fun to watch as it probably was to film and is by far their best video to date. Watch it below.

Each week I host my own radio show with Jana Babez on 2oceansvibe, and following that show I post a podcast for those of you who were unable to listen in. And for those of you who did listen in – thank you! Last week was a dedicated to Rocking to the Daisies and everything that made it one of the best weekends of the year.

Last week’s guests were Danielle and Kelly from the Cape Town surf rock trio, The Dollfins, who performed at this year’s festival. Besides filling us in on their Daisies experience, they also got to share the songs that they’re currently listening to, and this is what they chose:

Event: New Voyage | ‘El Dorado’.

The impending long weekend is shaping up to be quite an exciting one, and perfectly positioned on Women’s Day is the next installment of New Voyage, which comes equipped with a really impressive line-up, that includes Sedge Warbler (if you missed their new video, watch it below), as well as The Dollfins, Battle Beyond the Stars, Mudblud and more. This one also takes place at Ragazzi, which I’m really fond of, so all-in-all you have more than enough reasons to be there.

Sometimes it’s tough deciding how best to throw your money away. Allow me to ease that process.

Tuesday: David Gabriel Thorpe (Beach Party, The Dollfins, Gateway Drugs) will be doing a solo show at &Union for @texxonfire Tuesdays, starting at 7.30pm.

Tuesday: Once that’s done you can head over to this week’s Untamed Youth at Fiction, which is all about Youngbloodz and is based on a regular segment in Sideshow’s radio show, where she provides a platform for young/up-and-comers to show what they’re made of. This week features Bhashkar, Bombardier, Daddy Warbucks, DDE, Einstein Adonis and Mudblud.

Wednesday: This week SYNW at Assembly will be collaborating with YOH! for the first time and promises performances by Jakkals, Nicolaas van Reenen (Bateleur), Al Bairre, Stone-Age Citizens, Diamond Thug, Sexual Tension, Rakkie (The Frown), Young Supreme, Einstein Adonis, Ryan Gosling and Boyz2Men. If that wasn’t enough to get you excited there’ll also cheap drinks and giftbags for the first 30 people through the door.

Saturday: Nothing says Summer quite like a rooftop party and this particular rendition is one of Cape Town’s best. Doors open at 3pm and there will be DJ sets by Miss CJ, Emlyn Williams, Kaelem Fakier.

Saturday: Last, but definitely not least is the next installment of After Hours at Assembly. The theme this time around is ‘Treasure Island”, so expect bilgewater, scurvy, Booty Beyond The Stars, free shots, waking up in a dead man’s chest, Sexual Treasure, and obviously a whole lot of feathers.

The Dollfins are a Cape Town-based trio who’ve just released their first ever video for “In My Head”. Besides being ridiculously good-looking, this band also has the talent to match. Keep your eyes on these kids!
