Thanks for your comment! Bern’s Onion Market is one of my favorite childhood memories. My mom getting up in the wee hours to get her antiques market booth ready, oftentimes in the freezing cold. The smell of the onion pies, the confetti… a great tradition!

Living in the Bern bedroom suburb of Interlaken–every time I need extra culture and shopping I go to Thun and then ultimately to Bern. Bern has the university, the major shopping options and big special cultural events such as the Onion Market every autumn. Thanks for your excellent roundup!
