I walked 2-4 miles everyday to train(still do) and that helped a lot. I recommend Merrell Antora 3 (women) shoes. Many European streets/stairs do not have hand rails so travel with someone stable or get a walking stick if that is a concern. I use my occupational therapist daughter in law-I broke my back 3 years ago-as support on the inclines and scary stairs, but if I was by myself I’d have a walking stick.
